This past Sunday we observed and celebrated “National Back to Church Sunday“. A day observed by thousands of churches across the country. In it we discussed the importance and effects of it. In Acts 2:42-47 we are given a beautiful picture of what it means to be the church. But we must ask ourselves: Are we engaged in the life of the church? Are we engaged in the life of the church as those early believers were? Many have grown accustomed to not worshipping or worshipping from the comfort of their homes. Thereby disconnected from the vibrant life of the church. There are many and various reasons for the disconnect but the truth remains how important it is. Hebrews 12:1-2 tells us just how important it is to throw off everything that hinders and the sin that easily entangles us by fixing our eyes on Jesus. But how can we do this if we are not in fellowship with one another? We need each other to run the race, to cheer each other on , holding each other accountable and helping each other grow. The church is a place where we learn to love and follow God together and where we share our faith to the next generation. What does it mean to be part of a community of faith? Are we willing to invest our time, energy, and resources into building up the body of Christ? Our very existence and moving forward depends on it. So I challenge you to strongly consider how you can contribute to the life of your congregation? As Hebrews 10:25 states” let us not neglect meeting together as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another — and all the more as we see the Day approaching. Have a blessed week!
