Hello Friends,
This past Sunday we had to do something different. Because we didn’t have someone to preach, we showed a sermon video shared with us from Lutheran Church of Hope. The theme was “Why and How Should We Worship”. In it Pastor Mike Householder shared with us some of the biblical principles on worship. The first one from John 4:4-26; where Jesus has an encounter with a Samaritan woman at the well. Where Jesus offers her and us “living water” and tells us to worship in “spirit and in truth“. What distractions or assumptions could be keeping you from fully engaging in worship? The point being it doesn’t really matter where or how but just that you worship with your whole mind, body and spirit. That’s what God wants. Worship found in Revelation 4 shows us what worship will be like in heaven. Where we will hear “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, Almighty.” Where we will give glory, honor and thanks to the one on the throne forever. What would it look like to bring more of heaven’s worship into your church, home or group setting? In Romans 12:1-2, we read that we should give our bodies(our whole selves) to God because of what He has done for us. That is the way to worship Him. How can we make our whole life an act of worship, not just something we do on a Sunday morning? And finally in Acts:42-47: how the early Christian community viewed and experienced worship and community. An example given to us for today. What rhythms of worship, learning, and fellowship can you improve upon? How can your church and small group reflect more of this kind of community in the world around you? Perhaps we can begin to show up with a more focused intention, worship outside the walls and build a worshipping community. Would you help and do any of those things? Have a blessed week! See you in worship!
